Water-Based Dispersions
Particle size is crucial in making and choosing aqueous dispersions. It’s measured by both the size and distribution of particles. At Akron Dispersions, we use advanced laser technology to ensure consistent quality in every batch.
Dry Liquid Dispersions
These dry, free-flowing powders are blends of a liquid and a dry powder carrier. The DLD form offers convenience in handling, weighing, dispersibility and clean-up.
Emulsions
At Akron Dispersions, we emulsify water-immiscible liquids (such as oils) and low melting point, water-insoluble solids (like resins), allowing them to be easily incorporated into water-based formulations.

Foundation
Founded by Al Bosshard, a chemist at Firestone Tire & Rubber Company. The initial operations began in the basement of an old building in downtown Akron, OH. The company continued to grow and is now located on 50 scenic acres in west Akron.
Expansion
A second production facility was added to the site to increase DLD and dry grinding capabilities.
Distribution Partners
Rachana Rubber became Akron Dispersions’ official distributor in India.
Distribution Partners
Emersive (previously Sokachem), located in Malaysia, began distributing for Akron Dispersions.
Increased Capacity
Akron Dispersions doubled its capacity to produce water-based dispersions.
